Defined requirements for, designed, developed, tested, and continue to maintain
an application that tracks information about residents and registered voters in
Framingham, Massachusetts. This application
was originally developed for the 1997 John M. Kahn for Selectman campaign, but has
been used steadily for a wide variety of political campaigns ever since.
I update the database frequently from publicly-available census and voting lists.
The application allows users to define sets of
voters with certain types of common characteristics (for example, all voters born within
a given date range who live in a given precinct and who voted in the last primary
election). These sets can be used to develop lists for targeted political mailings
and telephone campaigns.
The application is developed in Visual Basic and uses Microsoft Access.
I'm currently evaluating whether the application and its data could be moved to the
Force.com platform.
